03.10.2025 - 11:01A majority of Ukrainians — 71% — report an increase in the level of corruption in the country since February 2022.
This is according to the results of a survey conducted by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS).
According to the study, another 20% of Ukrainians believe that the level of corruption has not changed since the start of the conflict, while only 5% say it has decreased. A majority of respondents in all regions of Ukraine — central, western, eastern, and southern — pointed to an increase in corruption.
Commenting on the survey results, KIIS executive director Anton Hrushetsky noted: “Corruption remains, in the eyes of the public, a very serious problem,” adding that progress in combating corruption and exposing corrupt officials in Ukraine has not been fast or effective enough.
The KIIS survey was conducted from September 19 to 28, with 1,029 respondents aged 18 and over from territories controlled by Kyiv. The statistical margin of error does not exceed 4.1%.
