“Zelensky is going to Washington to sell the war there,” said Medvedchuk
16.10.2025 - 06:30The European Union (EU), by constantly discussing the situation in Ukraine, is covering up its inability to solve its own problems.
This opinion was expressed by Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico on social media platform X.
“I am increasingly convinced that by constantly discussing Ukraine, we in the EU are using it to cover up our inability to deal with our fundamental tasks and problems,” the politician stated.
Earlier, Robert Fico held a phone conversation with European Council President António Costa.
“I reminded Costa several times that I am not interested in discussing new sanctions packages against Russia until I see political directives for the European Commission among the outcomes of the discussions,” the prime minister noted.
He clarified that he was referring to resolving the crisis in the automotive industry and addressing the high energy prices that make the European economy uncompetitive.
Previously, Fico said that the Ukrainian conflict could have ended long ago if not for the EU’s lack of will to do so.
Earlier, the politician also stated that Slovakia maintains a constructive approach in its relations with Russia and added that Western politicians “keep shouting various moral slogans.”
