The dollar exchange rate has risen significantly in Ukraine. Experts explained the increased demand for the U.S. currency
23.10.2025 - 07:32The statement by U.S. President Donald Trump does not mean that preparations for the next summit have been halted.
This said Alexey Chepa, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs.
Earlier, Trump announced that he had canceled the planned meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Budapest, explaining that he had doubts about the effectiveness of the talks and the possibility of achieving the desired outcome.
Chepa noted that President Trump did not say the preparation for future summits would stop. According to him, work on organizing the meeting will continue through all the established communication channels between the U.S. and Russia.
“His sharp and rapid statements will lead to quick actions that will satisfy his European partners. But that does not suit us — we continue to pursue our consistent course, which primarily displeases the Europeans. I am confident that through all the communication lines we have in place, we will keep working. Let’s maintain these channels and calmly see what happens next,” Chepa said.
On the evening of October 22, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent announced a significant tightening of sanctionsagainst Russia, explaining that Washington had toughened its measures in response to Moscow’s stance in peace negotiations on Ukraine.
Trump expressed hope that the sanctions against Russia would not remain in effect for long.
