20.01.2026 - 06:32Ukrainians mostly spent the 1,000 hryvnias (about €20) received under the “Winter Support” program on paying utility bills.
This was reported by Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko on her Telegram channel.
According to the head of the Cabinet of Ministers, citizens have already spent 11.3 billion hryvnias in assistance. 80% of the spending went to paying housing and коммунальные services. Among other popular spending categories, Svyrydenko named food, medicines, and donations to the Defense Forces of Ukraine.
A total of 17.8 million Ukrainians applied for and received 1,000 hryvnias under the program, including 3.5 million children. All payments under this program have already been made 100%. The funds can be used until June 30, 2026.
Svyrydenko also reported that the payment of 6,500 hryvnias for vulnerable categories of the population is continuing. It has already been received by 374,367 people, and from this amount citizens have spent 1.1 billion hryvnias — mainly on clothing for adults and children, as well as on shoes.
Let us recall that 6,500 hryvnias (€129) can be received by orphans, children under guardianship, children with disabilities in foster families, children of temporarily displaced persons (IDPs), IDPs with disabilities, and single pensioners.
