80% of Ukrainians spent the ‘winter thousand’ on paying utility bills
20.01.2026 - 06:01President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky is trusted less than the former commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and current ambassador of Ukraine to the United Kingdom, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, and the head of the President’s Office, Kyrylo Budanov.
This follows from poll data by the Kyiv International Institute of Sociology (KIIS).
According to these data, 62% of Ukrainians trust Zelensky, while 72% trust the former commander-in-chief and ambassador to the UK, and 70% trust the former head of military intelligence and current head of the President’s Office.
At the same time, 34% of respondents do not trust Zelensky (for Zaluzhnyi and Budanov it is around 20%).

Let us recall that as early as last spring, poll data showed that Zaluzhnyi and Budanov moved into first places in Ukrainians’ trust ratings.
And recently, MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak spoke about a record drop in Zelensky’s rating after the scandal with the “Mindych tapes.”
Also, according to SOCIS polls, Zelensky would lose in the second round of presidential elections to Zaluzhnyi and Budanov.
If the incumbent president and former commander-in-chief Zaluzhnyi made it to the second round, Zaluzhnyi would get 64.2% and Zelensky 35.8%.
In the case of the former head of the GUR, the gap is smaller but still significant: 56.2% versus 43.8%.
