17.03.2026 - 13:05The United States does not need Ukraine’s help in defending against Iranian drones.
This was stated to the New York Post by an unnamed White House representative, referring to a recent statement by U.S. President Donald Trump.
“Operation ‘Epic Fury’ was a resounding success: the number of Iranian missile strikes has decreased by 90%, and the number of drone strikes by 95%,” he said.
On March 13, Trump said the United States does not need Ukraine’s help with drone defense during the military operation against Iran. Trump then also said the U.S. military does not need Kyiv’s help, and that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is “the last person” from whom Washington would expect it.
On March 5, Zelensky said Ukraine could send the United States drone countermeasures and its specialists. And on March 9, Zelensky said Kyiv would send interceptor drones and a team of drone specialists to Jordan to help protect U.S. military bases.
On March 14, Iran’s chargé d’affaires in Ukraine, Shahriar Amuzegar, said that Zelensky’s words about supporting Middle Eastern countries place Ukraine in the same camp as Iran’s enemies.
