26.03.2026 05:31A drone flew into Estonia overnight today and struck the smokestack of the Auvere power plant. The facility did not sustain serious damage, and no one was injured.
This was reported by ERR, citing law enforcement authorities.
According to the prosecutor’s office, the drone was not aimed directly at targets in Estonia. It was headed for Russia’s Leningrad region and was not the only one.

Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur said that Ukraine used about 100 drones in the attack. Several of them crossed Estonia’s maritime border over the Gulf of Finland. According to him, some of the drones may have fallen into the sea.
A UAV also entered Latvia, as reported by the country’s Defense Ministry. The device exploded in Krāslava Municipality, one kilometer from the center of Svariņi parish, near the village of Dobričina. Its wreckage was found in the morning.
Latvian President Edgars Rinkēvičs said at a joint press conference with Prime Minister Evika Siliņa that it was also a Ukrainian drone, which apparently took part in a coordinated Ukrainian operation against Russian targets.
On March 23, an unidentified drone crashed and exploded in Lithuania. The Lithuanian authorities also said that it was Ukrainian.
