In Ternopil, a man threatened military enlistment officers with an axe and threw a Molotov cocktail at them
26.03.2026 06:01Servicemen from the second company of the 159th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces who went missing in the Kharkiv direction may have surrendered.
This opinion was expressed in an interview with aif.ru by military expert Boris Dzhereliyevsky.
Russian security sources had reported that the company disappeared between the villages of Volokhovka and Bochkovo. There, the Ukrainian Armed Forces reportedly suffered heavy losses while trying to cross the Vovcha River.
Dzhereliyevsky suggested that this could have been a mass surrender, or even a defection to the side of the Russian Armed Forces.
The expert recalled that similar things happened during World War II: in 1943, an entire brigade of collaborators switched over to the side of Red Army partisans.
According to the expert, during the special military operation in Ukraine there have not yet been any large-scale defections, with at most a platoon having switched sides.
Earlier, Ukrainian drone operators were sent into assault units near Kharkiv.
