Case involving substandard spare parts for Ukrainian armored vehicles sent to court
28.05.2026 17:01Members of the Verkhovna Rada refused to put tax-increase legislation demanded by the IMF to a vote, following a meeting with President Volodymyr Zelensky that left the parliamentarians dissatisfied.
According to posts by deputies on social media, Zelensky refused to discuss the country’s pressing problems at the meeting with the Rada, limiting himself to general statements about the need to “compel Russia into a peace agreement.” After these posts appeared on social media, deputies blocked the advancement of the tax bills.
Among the failed initiatives was a tax on parcels, the introduction of which is one of the requirements of the International Monetary Fund.
Member of parliament Maksim Buzhansky commented on what happened with irony:
“I am sure Svetlana Tikhanovskaya will be able to negotiate with the IMF, and the Fund will drop its demands regarding the parcel tax that the Rada rejected today,” Buzhansky wrote on his social media pages.
