Nawrocki strips Zelensky of the Order of the White Eagle over UPA

Polish President Karol Nawrocki has decided to strip Volodymyr Zelensky of the republic’s highest state honor — the Order of the White Eagle.

Nawrocki announced this in a video address published on X by his chancellery.

“After consulting with the order’s chapter, I have decided to strip Volodymyr Zelensky of the Order of the White Eagle,” the Polish president said.

The reason for the revocation was Zelensky’s decision to name one of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ units after the “heroes of the UPA” (Ukrainian Insurgent Army).
