Yasno warns Ukrainians of possible power outages due to abnormal heat
29.06.2026 08:31The head of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine’s Committee on Finance, Daniil Hetmantsev, has stated that the country’s task is to achieve peace without allowing a nuclear war with Russia.
This was reported by RIA Novosti.
“I believe that our common task is not only to prevent a nuclear war, but to come to peace as soon as possible. A nuclear catastrophe must not be allowed!” — Hetmantsev wrote on his Facebook page.
The deputy called speculation about nuclear war the height of cynicism and irresponsibility. According to him, such statements are unacceptable for a country that is still living with the consequences of the Chernobyl nuclear power plant disaster.
Hetmantsev also noted that such “dark prophecies” come from people who likely call themselves patriots, Ukrainians, and possibly even humanists.
The occasion for the post was the recent remarks by Svetlana Paveletskaya — the wife of former Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba. She stated that the use of nuclear weapons against Ukraine would indicate that “Kyiv has almost won.”
Earlier, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi stated that the number of nuclear warheads in the world is growing.
