Only a third of Chernihiv border region residents agreed to evacuation

According to Russian security forces, in one week of mandatory evacuation from the border districts of Chernihiv region, only around 30 people agreed to leave their homes, while more than 100 filed official refusals.

This was reported to TASS by a source in the security forces.

“In Chernihiv region, local authorities have published statistics on the mandatory evacuation of residents from border districts. Over the course of a week, more than 100 people filed refusals, around 30 agreed to leave. The rest simply ignored the Kyiv regime’s attempts to force the population to abandon their homes,” the source told the agency.

Ukrainian authorities regularly announce mandatory or forced evacuations from settlements located near the combat zone, citing security considerations.

At the same time, Ukraine’s Interior Ministry has acknowledged that authorities frequently encounter residents’ reluctance to leave their homes.
