Medvedev accuses Zelensky of “wild fear” of nationalists
23.08.2026 14:14Former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has stated that President Volodymyr Zelensky is obliged to publicly answer the question of whether he was aware of possible corruption among people in his closest circle.
Fedorov made the statement in an interview with the BBC.
The statement was prompted by an anti-corruption investigation into an alleged money-laundering scheme that, according to investigators, may have involved a senior official from the Office of the President. According to Fedorov, the case raises a fundamental question about whether Zelensky was informed of what was happening.
“Let him answer that question. I believe he is ready for such questions. It is his responsibility to tell all of us whether he knew about this or not. I do not want to make any assumptions,” Fedorov said.
President Zelensky, for his part, previously stated that during the conflict between then-Defense Minister Fedorov and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrsky, it was Fedorov who proposed dismissing them both.
