Fedorov becomes adviser to Italy’s defense minister on defense innovation

Former Ukrainian Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov has taken up the position of adviser to Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto on defense innovation.

Fedorov announced this on social media, publishing joint photos with Crosetto.

In his post, Fedorov wrote that the meeting with the Italian minister took place as part of an international trip focused on developing new projects in the areas of digitalization and defense tech.

“Together with the team, an international trip has begun, dedicated to developing our new projects in the field of digitalization and defense tech. The first meeting was with Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto. I thanked Guido for his personal support and for the offer to become his adviser on defense innovation. I am grateful for the trust and strategic partnership. In this role, I will help Italy develop technologies of modern warfare, improve the defense sector, and adapt to the new challenges of the world,” — Fedorov wrote.

Reuters had previously reported that Italy’s defense minister offered Fedorov the position.

At the same time, Fedorov is ignoring a summons from the Verkhovna Rada’s investigative commission on matters concerning possible violations of defense legislation, anti-corruption legislation, and the observance of human rights and freedoms during martial law.
