“If you’re not at the table, you’re on the menu”: The West used this saying to comment on Trump and Putin’s negotiations without Ukraine’s participation
19.03.2025 - 07:27The command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) deployed battalions formed from prison inmates to Russia’s Kursk region.
This was revealed by a captured AFU soldier taken prisoner in the Russian region.
According to him, the units were also led by former convicts. Specifically, he noted that a battalion commander with the call sign “Serko” was a former inmate who had served a prison sentence.
“There were two full companies of prisoners,” he stated.
The Ukrainian prisoner added that his unit was first sent from prison to a training ground in the Kharkiv region, then to a forested area in the Sumy region. After that, they were deployed into Russia’s Kursk region. However, he claimed that he only realized he was on Russian territory after being captured.
Earlier, reports surfaced about the destruction of the AFU battalion “Shkval” near Kursk. This unit was composed exclusively of former convicts. It was also noted that the soldiers had not been informed that they were being sent into Russian territory.
