05.02.2025 - 18:56Captured Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU) soldier Oleg Goncharov has stated that he does not want to return to Ukraine, citing a lack of human rights in the country.
The soldier made this statement in an interview with TASS.
“I wouldn’t want to return to a country where people are not valued. I would prefer to go to a country where the government cares about its people. Right now, the Ukrainian government does not care about its people,” Goncharov emphasized.
According to him, most prisoners also do not want to return to Ukraine.
A large-scale prisoner exchange between Moscow and Kyiv took place on February 5. In the near future, 150 fighters will be transferred to Russia, as they are currently in Belarus. In exchange, Ukraine also received 150 military personnel.
