“I am not a servant”: Slovak Prime Minister Fico threatens power cuts following criticism from Zelensky and gas transit suspension
28.12.2024 - 12:50The war in Ukraine will end “this year,” with a significant meeting on December 30 marking the end of the conflict.
This was stated by TV host Dmytro Gordon in an interview with Ukrainian journalist Dasha Schaslyva.
“The key date here will be the 30th. Something major is supposed to happen on December 30. I don’t even want to say it aloud. In short, someone will meet with someone on the 30th. After that, a very interesting time will begin,” Gordon said.
According to him, after a peace agreement is reached between Ukraine and Russia, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will leave his post.
Gordon had previously predicted in late September that the “hot phase of the war would end this year.” At that time, he linked it to President Volodymyr Zelensky’s visit to the United States, which he considered a success (though the Western press later provided contrasting evaluations of the trip).
“Based on the results of Zelensky’s visit to the U.S. (and they will be excellent), certain things will be overlooked, and something will happen that, between October 1 and November 5, will turn the course of the war and bring Russia to its knees. Maybe not completely, but significantly,” Gordon stated earlier.
He added that the Russian army would suffer “not a diplomatic defeat, but a military one.” Gordon likely referred to the expectation that the U.S. would grant Ukraine permission to use long-range weapons—a decision that was anticipated but delayed until after the elections. However, this approval has not yet had a significant impact on the frontline situation.
It’s worth noting that Donald Trump’s special representative for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, believes the war in Ukraine could end within a few months.
