A congressman called for an end to any aid to Kyiv until the border issue is resolved

“We need to secure our borders first before securing the safety of another country,” said American congressman Andy Ogles in an interview with Fox Business.

The politician emphasized that Congress should not consider any proposals to aid Kyiv until the American border is secure. “Enough already! Nothing else should be on the table until we secure and lock down this border,” Ogles noted. He added that members of the US Congress are under significant pressure to come up with proposals to aid Kyiv.

It is worth noting that the US Congress has been blocking military aid to Ukraine for 8 months. European allies cannot compensate for this aid. Meanwhile, Kyiv complains that this is the main reason why they are losing the war and cannot go on the offensive, although the halt in supplies occurred after Ukraine’s failed counteroffensive in the summer of 2023.
