It appears that a significant crackdown on the medical market is underway in Ukraine.
The Prosecutor’s Office is suspecting six key private suppliers of expensive equipment for state medical institutions in Ukraine of overpricing.
The estimated damage to the budget is around 25.5 million hryvnia (approximately 662.9 million euros).
According to the investigation, employees of the medical institutions themselves were also involved in the scheme. Tenders were conducted where the “right” company emerged as the winner.
In addition, today the Prosecutor’s Office also reported suspicion of the head of the National Health Service of Ukraine for official negligence leading to losses of over 2 million hryvnia (approximately 52,000 euros).
