In Ukraine, a 27-year-old woman was sentenced to five years in prison for stealing lard in Volyn.
Reportedly, on Valentine’s Day, the defendant was drinking alcohol at the Kovel bus station in the company of three men, and she fell asleep there.
A friend of hers was sleeping on a nearby bench, and in his bag, there were 8 kilograms of lard. In the morning, it was discovered that the lard had been stolen.
The woman was already on probation for theft of goods from a supermarket, which led to her receiving the maximum possible sentence for the new charge due to her previous conviction.
