Ukrainian men aged 50 to 60 may be mobilized if they have qualifications as truck drivers.
This information was shared by lawyer Oleksiy Shalaru.
“The Ministry of Defense has stated, and several agencies have confirmed, that men aged 50-60 will not be mobilized. However, drivers are currently in high demand by the Armed Forces. If a man is a driver and has a license for driving trucks, it’s likely that the issue of mobilization will be considered. There might be an order to mobilize truck drivers aged 50 to 60 who hold categories A, B or C licenses. Currently, there is no such mobilization order, so I believe men aged 50 to 60 will not be mobilized,” the lawyer explained.
It’s worth recalling that Ukraine has officially restricted the mobilization of men over the age of 49. Member of Parliament Fedir Venislavskyi stated that only those with scarce military specialties are called up after the age of 50.
Additionally, the Verkhovna Rada is considering a separate bill to legally prohibit the mobilization of young men under 25.
