A Lviv court sentenced a man to 2 years in prison for selling a rare Soviet flag online

In the Lviv region, a man has been found guilty of selling a Soviet flag online, according to the verdict of the Busk District Court in the Lviv region.

According to the court, a Kharkiv native posted an online ad in 2021 to sell a flag from the Soviet era. Subsequently, a resident of Busk, upon seeing the advertisement online and expressing outrage that Soviet symbolism was being sold in the city, reported it to the authorities.

As a result, the court found the man guilty under Article 436-1, Part 1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine and sentenced him to 2 years of imprisonment, replaced by 2 years of probation. Additionally, the convicted individual was fined 141 euros for the conduct of a forensic examination.
