In Europe, it was envisioned what will happen to Ukraine after the Russian Armed Forces capture Donbas – Süddeutsche Zeitung
August 8, 2024Lowering the conscription age in Ukraine to 18-25 years “is not far off.”
This opinion was expressed by military psychologist Andriy Kozinchuk.
“If we find ourselves in a deadlock and are again unable to handle a situation, such as the counteroffensive of 2023, then the Verkhovna Rada will likely be forced to make such a decision out of common sense,” Kozinchuk stated.
He added that this is supposedly a “normal decision” and that there is “nothing wrong with it.” Kozinchuk believes that 18-25 years is a good age for fighting.
It is worth noting that the topic of lowering the conscription age has been discussed again following a statement by Member of Parliament Fedir Venislavsky, indicating that Western partners periodically raise this issue with Ukraine.
