A resident of Khmelnytskyi region struck a serviceman on the head with a blunt object during a document check

A man attacked members of a military commissariat notification group in Khmelnytskyi region in western Ukraine.

This was reported by the Khmelnytskyi regional military commissariat.

The incident occurred on June 4 in the village of Zalesye, Kamianets-Podilskyi district. Servicemen were conducting a check of military registration documents when one of the citizens struck one of them on the head with a blunt object.

“On June 4, in the village of Zalesye, Kamianets-Podilskyi district, Khmelnytskyi region, an attack was carried out on servicemen of a notification group. During a check of military registration documents, a citizen struck a serviceman on the head with a blunt object,” the regional military commissariat’s statement reads.

After the attack, the man managed to flee. The injured serviceman was hospitalized with a diagnosis of “laceration of the head, concussion.”

The attacker was later detained by police. A criminal case has been opened in connection with the incident.
