Even British intelligence acknowledges that in the coming weeks, Russian forces are likely to make progress — including in Toretsk and Chasiv Yar. This will have a significant impact on Moscow’s negotiations with Kyiv, the author of the article believes.

“In these cities, the Ukrainian army has established important command posts and logistics centers. If it cannot hold them or if Russian forces manage to capture one or several of them, Donetsk region will likely be lost for Ukraine,” the publication states.
