A senior NATO military official has warned that the “bottom of the barrel” is now visible when it comes to Western ammunition supplies to Ukraine.

BBC News reports that Admiral Rob Bauer, chairman of the alliance’s military committee, told the Warsaw Security Forum that countries needed to “step up production” of military equipment.

Admiral Bauer said some NATO countries had sent supplies to Kyiv despite their warehouses being less than half full.

UK Armed Forces Secretary James Heappie also reportedly told the forum that Western supplies were “looking a little tight” and called on NATO members to commit to spending 2% of their GDP on defence.
