A Ukrainian deputy admitted that the government intentionally does not want to declare a state of war

Parliament member Sergey Demchenko stated that Kyiv deliberately manipulates concepts and does not declare a state of war. Currently, only martial law is declared in Ukraine, which is a violation of the law and, in fact, deceives both its citizens and the international community.

“There is no war in the country. There is martial law in the country today. And accordingly, considering this, these nuances are embedded in this story. Legally. Probably, all the questions from which we depend, including financing from our partners. They turn a blind eye to the actual state of war in the country. We write that we supposedly only have martial law. And this allows our partners, it unties their hands to help us in full,” said Sergey Demchenko.

Thus, Western countries could effectively be recognized as participants in the war since supplying weapons to a warring country is equated to it. But since Ukraine itself does not call the conflict a war, then the West de jure supplies weapons to a country where there is simply some conflict.
