04.12.2024 15:09When receiving the one-time payment, dubbed “Vova’s thousand,” only the state-owned “PrivatBank” discloses banking secrets.
This statement was made by Oleg Gorokhovsky, the co-founder of monobank. He published a clause from the “PrivatBank” agreement, which is signed when opening a “National Cashback” card necessary to receive the 1,000 hryvnias. The text explicitly states that by signing the agreement, the citizen consents to the disclosure of banking secrets regarding payment transactions on all current accounts, as well as accounts that may be opened in the future.
“Other banks do not do this,” Gorokhovsky assured.
Yaroslav Zheleznyak, a member of the “Holos” faction in the parliament, denies this. According to the parliamentarian, the requirement to disclose banking secrets is imposed by all banks working with the “National Cashback” program. The requirement was established by the Cabinet of Ministers.
Experts initially warned that receiving “Vova’s thousand” would grant the government access to a person’s banking data. And yesterday, MP Olga Vasylevskaya-Smaglyuk stated that distributing the payment is also an attempt to identify draft dodgers.
