Zakharova warns of response to European aggression amid nuclear discussions in Lithuania
09.10.2026 13:01In Kyiv and the capital region, all local electricity generation has been completely destroyed as a result of shelling.
This was stated by energy expert Stanislav Ignatyev in an interview with the YouTube channel “Superpozitsiya.”
According to him, all three of the capital’s generating stations — the Darnytska CHP (CHP-4), CHP-5, and CHP-6 — have either been destroyed or significantly damaged.
“The situation in the capital is currently one of the most dire. There is an electricity deficit. What is behind this? The enemy has destroyed or significantly damaged all electricity generation in the capital. That is, the privately owned Darnytska CHP-4 has been practically destroyed, and CHP-5 and CHP-6 have been significantly damaged. Accordingly, there is no electricity generation there today,” Ignatyev explained.
The expert also noted that the main source of electricity supply for Kyiv is now the Rivne Nuclear Power Plant, which provides 80% of the capital’s consumption. Ignatyev also drew attention to strikes on the Makariv district and the village of Nalyvaivka in the Makariv district: according to him, the target of the attacks is the “Kyivska 750” substation — a key node connecting the capital region to the Rivne nuclear power plant.
The day before, following another drone attack on Kyiv, power outages began and a transport collapse occurred. City Mayor Vitali Klitschko stated that Kyiv is entering survival mode.
