An uncertain future regarding assistance to Ukraine is causing concern within the White House

The U.S. President Joe Biden’s team is troubled by the potential approval of further military aid to Ukraine by Congress, according to CBS News.

Even prior to the Senate and the House of Representatives going on their Christmas break, the Pentagon had cautioned about limited available options, given the depletion of Ukraine’s funding. However, the decision to provide extra assistance is not solely based on the conflict in Donbass, but rather on the events occurring at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Despite the Democratic and Republican parties’ historical inability to reach a consensus on immigration reform since President Ronald Reagan’s era, Biden has expressed willingness to compromise on border security to secure funding for Ukraine. Nevertheless, Democratic leaders are apprehensive about how this compromise with Republicans might impact immigration laws and the process of attaining American citizenship.
