February 13, 2025Former commander of the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Lieutenant General Serhiy Naiev, confirmed that he has been sent to the front.
He announced this on his Facebook page.
The ex-commander published a post stating that he had “arrived at the site of combat missions.” He hinted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces on his assigned sector are in a defensive position.
“I have arrived at the site of combat missions. I am getting up to speed, studying the composition of forces and resources. In front of me are exhausted but indomitable warriors. Each of them is a story of courage, pain, and defiance,” he wrote.
Earlier, the media reported that Naiev, who was in reserve, was unexpectedly sent to command troops near Velyka Novosilka, where Russian forces are actively advancing, without his request.
He was sent there after giving an interview in which he criticized the Ukrainian authorities for poor war preparedness.
