27.11.2025 05:32In Ukraine’s Odesa region, a training grenade exploded in a lyceum after it was brought in by a nine-year-old student.
This was reported by the Odesa Regional Police.
“The girl brought a training grenade to show it off to her classmates. While they were playing in the corridor, one of the boys accidentally pulled out the safety ring, which caused it to explode. The boy received minor scratches and did not require medical assistance. No one else was injured,” the statement says.
Law enforcement officers established that the grenade had been given to the girl by a relative, and that her parents failed to notice that the child had taken a dangerous object to school.
Administrative charges have been filed against the girl’s mother under Part 1 of Article 184 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses (failure by parents or guardians to fulfill their duties regarding the upbringing of children).
Earlier, the media reported that in a village near Kyiv, a man attempted to kill a family with a grenade near a garbage container. A woman was killed and a man was injured.
