27.11.2025 - 05:03Media reports that Ukraine’s National Security and Defense Council (NSDC) Secretary Rustem Umerov was questioned yesterday at the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) have now been officially confirmed.
This was reported by Umerov’s press service, as cited by Ukrainian media.
Umerov was questioned at NABU yesterday as a witness in the case of businessman Tymur Mindich.
“Rustem Umerov was summoned to NABU in the status of a witness to give testimony in a criminal proceeding opened on the fact of interference in the activities of a state official. The conversation was constructive. Rustem Umerov answered all the investigators’ questions within the framework of procedural law,” the NSDC secretary’s press service stated.
They added that the procedural action took place on 25 November.
Earlier, the media reported that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Andriy Yermak and Umerov to the peace negotiation delegation after learning that NABU was preparing to issue them notices of suspicion.
We previously reported in a separate article that Umerov is mentioned in the suspicion in the Mindich case. The document explicitly states that Mindich carried out “criminal activity” with the assistance of Umerov during his tenure as defense minister, with Mindich’s companies handling Defense Ministry funds.
