December 9, 2023Ukraine is expecting one to two intense weeks for its energy sector.
This information stated Vladimir Kudritsky, the Chairman of the Board at “Ukrenergo.”
“We have potentially one or two more intense weeks ahead, especially if temperatures remain low. Closer to the New Year, consumption in the system will start to decrease,” Kudritsky noted.
Recall that on December 7, Ukraine registered the highest level of energy consumption since the beginning of the heating season. It was reported that ‘Ukrenergo’ had to seek emergency assistance from Slovakia, Poland, and Romania to ensure the safe and balanced operation of the energy system even under such challenging conditions.
Experts anticipate scheduled power outages of 1-2 hours in Ukraine if the deficit of electricity due to low temperatures cannot be compensated for.”
