Ukraine set up a “carousel” system for returning POWs after exchanges
14.01.2026 09:09This morning, Yulia Tymoshenko, the leader of the Batkivshchyna party, received a notice of suspicion from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU).
This was reported by Olga Postoliuk, spokesperson for the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (SAPO), in a comment to Suspilne.
The issue of choosing a preventive measure for Tymoshenko is currently being decided.
Earlier, MP Oleksii Honcharenko of the European Solidarity party said on his Telegram channel that NABU and SAPO had been conducting searches in Batkivshchyna’s office for most of the night.
Tymoshenko herself has already commented on NABU’s investigative actions against her on Facebook. The Batkivshchyna leader confirmed that searches were carried out at the party’s office until morning. At the same time, she stated that law enforcement did not have a court warrant.
She also said she “categorically rejects all absurd accusations.”
“Only loud public statements on the internet without any evidence. The search was a grand PR stunt. They found nothing, so they simply took my work phones, parliamentary documents, and personal savings, information about which is fully reflected in my official declaration,” Tymoshenko wrote.
She believes what is happening is an attempt to remove her as a political competitor.
Recall that the day before, NABU and SAPO said they had exposed the head of one of the Verkhovna Rada’s parliamentary factions for offering an “improper benefit” to a number of MPs from other factions in exchange for voting “for” or “against” specific bills. MP Honcharenko said this referred to Yulia Tymoshenko, the leader of the Batkivshchyna party.
