‘I’m afraid to be a soldier’: a young Ukrainian confessed why he is hiding from mobilization
04.09.2024 - 23:03Forced mobilization by the Lutsk Territorial Recruitment Center has come to light.
Two Ukrainian citizens reported this to the local TV channel Avers.
Alexei, a native of the Poltava region, explained that he was held in the Territorial Recruitment Center for several days, but when he asked for the protocol of his detention, he did not receive a clear answer from either the military officials or the police, whom he called several times. Eventually, he was taken outside, where several soldiers threatened him and then used physical force against him.
After that, Alexei was taken to a training ground, where documents were falsified to indicate that he had passed the military medical commission. He was then transferred to another training ground and subsequently to a second Territorial Recruitment Center, from which he managed to leave.
“How can I voluntarily join the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces if they are breaking us?” asked the man from Poltava.
Taras, a native of the Rivne region, was also taken to the Territorial Recruitment Center, where he was immediately issued a referral for a military medical commission. He refused, stating that he would undergo the medical examination at his place of residence. As a result, he was threatened with being taken to a training ground. His medical commission document was half-filled, even though he had not undergone any examination. Taras tore up the document.
“When someone is mistreated and forcibly taken, what motivation will they have to join the army?” Taras asked.
Previously, a man vacationing on a beach in Odesa claimed that he was beaten by police during his transfer to a Territorial Recruitment Center.
It was also reported that in the Rivne region, a man slit his wrists in a Territorial Recruitment Center after being “restrained” by eight military officials.
