“Busification” was named Ukraine’s Word of the Year for 2024
06.01.2025 18:26The commander of the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade, Andriy Biletsky, expressed support for the possibility of a ceasefire under any conditions.
He shared this view during an interview with the “Moseichuk+” project.
Biletsky believes it would be “okay” if the country avoids falling into anarchy and focuses on modernization instead.
“If there’s a ceasefire under any conditions, on January 20 or whenever, there’s nothing wrong with it if we focus on modernizing the country and its security sector. If there’s a ceasefire, absolutely nothing catastrophic will happen. The real danger would be falling into anarchy, endless warfare, and disputes over who fought more, who’s the bigger hero, who’s the bigger volunteer, and who loved Ukraine the most over the past three years. If we can avoid that and start modernizing the country, it’s okay,” Biletsky stated.
In the same interview, he mentioned that the increasing discussions about a ceasefire negatively impact the combat effectiveness of the Ukrainian army on the front lines, as they encourage soldiers to take fewer risks in the hope of a swift end to the war.
