November 27, 2024London has no intention of sending its military personnel to Ukraine.
This was stated by the UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, according to Politico.
The British diplomat emphasized that “this is undoubtedly the current position of the United Kingdom and it remains so.”
At the same time, Lammy noted that Britain intends to continue providing military support to Kyiv, so that the Ukrainian Armed Forces can conduct combat operations in the coming year.
The day before, British Defense Minister John Healey stated that Ukraine had entered a critical phase of the war.
“It is time for Europe to do more to ensure its own security and collective defense. Together, we are strengthening NATO’s eastern borders, enhancing cooperation in the development of air defense systems and long-range missiles. We are also working on activating joint industrial programs with our defense enterprises,” said the minister.
Earlier, Italy’s Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani stated that Rome would not send troops to assist Kyiv.
“We must avoid escalation. Russia bears serious responsibility for drawing North Korean soldiers into the war against Ukraine, recruiting Houthis, and Iranian puppets,” said the diplomat.
