Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney called on Russia to observe the energy ceasefire with Ukraine brokered by U.S. President Donald Trump.
He wrote about this on the social network X.
“The new ‘energy ceasefire’ between Russia and Ukraine, brokered by President Trump, can significantly reduce tensions in the conflict and protect thousands of civilians from danger and suffering,” Carney wrote.
The Canadian prime minister also said that on Sunday he held talks with Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. The discussions covered the energy situation and the war in Ukraine.
According to Carney, Canada continues to work with allies toward establishing a just and lasting peace in Ukraine and Europe.
