September 22, 2023More than half of the Leopard 1A5 tanks that Denmark transferred to Ukraine have been found to have defects.
This information was reported by the Danish television channel TV2, citing a statement from the Minister of Defense of the Kingdom of Denmark, Truls Lund Poulsen.
“According to information from German authorities, ten of the tanks that are already in Ukraine have some minor defects. The Armed Forces of Ukraine are working to address these defects,” the document states.
Another ten tanks that were sent to Ukraine are still in Poland.
“According to the information, two of these tanks have suffered serious damage,” the minister is quoted as saying.
Last spring, Moscow sent a note to NATO countries due to military aid deliveries to Ukraine. Russia has repeatedly stated that any shipments containing weapons for Kiev would be considered a legitimate target for the military.
