Opposition to providing assistance to Ukraine is gaining momentum within the United States
February 8, 2024Polish President Andrzej Duda is confident that Donald Trump will keep his promise to end the war in Ukraine within 24 hours if he wins the elections.
The Polish politician made this statement to journalists in Rwanda, where he is visiting.
“I can say, based on my personal experience as the President of the Republic of Poland, who once worked with President Donald Trump during his first presidential term, that what he promised me was fulfilled. So, if I received any promise from President Trump, if he promised me something, then it was fulfilled,” Duda said.
“Therefore, I can say that President Trump keeps his word, and if he says something, he takes it seriously,” added the Polish leader.
Recall that Trump has repeatedly stated that in case of winning the presidential elections, he will stop the war in Ukraine even before his inauguration. Recently, after winning the primaries in the state of Iowa, Trump said that he “gets along well” with Vladimir Putin and “knows well” Volodymyr Zelensky, implying that he intends to arrange negotiations between them.
At the end of January, Zelensky said that he would be “very happy” if Trump really manages to end the war within 24 hours.
