‘European soldiers will not fight in Ukraine’, – Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur says

European soldiers will not be fighting in Ukraine, but they may be sent to accelerate the training of Ukrainian servicemen.

This statement was made by Estonian Defense Minister Hanno Pevkur, as reported by Die Presse.

“What President Emmanuel Macron of France said mainly concerned the sphere of training,” Pevkur explained.

Recall that for several weeks, the West has been discussing the statement by the French president about the possibility of sending Western troops to Ukraine.

Earlier, the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs clarified that Macron was talking about sending instructors to Ukraine, not combat units. According to Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba, Ukraine has never asked for Western troops to be sent and only needs ammunition.

Meanwhile, Finnish Foreign Minister Elina Valtonen did not rule out the possibility of sending Western troops to Ukraine. But not now, in the future, when there is a need.
