14.11.2024 21:55Twelve percent of Ukrainians lack enough money even for basic food needs, representing more than one in ten residents of the country.
These figures are presented in the Razumkov Center’s September survey report titled “Citizens’ Assessments of the Socio-Economic Situation and Socio-Economic Policy of the Authorities, Social Well-Being of Citizens.”
According to the survey, almost 41% of respondents manage to cover their daily living expenses, but purchasing long-term goods, such as a television or refrigerator, is challenging for them.

In grocery stores, 44% of respondents opt for cheaper items, even if they are of lower quality.
Only 0.5% of Ukrainians can afford to buy anything they want.
Overall, Ukrainians have a skeptical view of the country’s economic situation: current ratings are similar to those from May 2021, when 60% of respondents described it as very bad or rather bad.
The survey included 2,016 respondents aged 18 and older.

Meanwhile, experts warn of possible price hikes for electricity and gas, which would likely lead to a new wave of rising food prices.
