14.11.2024 21:40During a session of the Irpin City Council in the Kyiv region, two individuals in military uniform entered and aggressively confronted the council members.
Videos of the incident have been circulating on social media.
One of the visitors, disabled veteran Serhiy Yaniuk, who goes by the callsign “Latvian,” took the council podium and demanded that the first deputy mayor, Andriy Kravchuk, return the “Order of Courage” and that council members renounce their Combatant Certificates (UBD).
Together with his comrade, Yaniuk persistently questioned Kravchuk about the reasons for receiving his award and accused him of leaving the city during active hostilities.
In response, Kravchuk explained that he did not nominate himself for the award and had provided significant support to the front.
However, these explanations did not satisfy the veterans. Yaniuk proceeded to threaten the council members, warning that if they did not give up their awards and combatant status, there would be “private discussions” with them.
