Farion called for sending a taxi driver who refused to speak in Ukrainian for ‘utilization’ or to a ‘penal battalion’

Former Ukrainian Parliament member Irina Farion called for sending a Kiev taxi driver to “utilization” or to a “penal battalion” after he refused to switch to the Ukrainian language and ejected passengers from his car.

She made this statement during an interview on the NTA television channel.

“For people like that, we need to create a penal battalion. So they can be immediately sent to the front lines or dig trenches for our brave soldiers or serve as a shield for our heroes. Because people like this deserve only one thing – complete and absolute ‘utilization’,” said the representative of the “Svoboda” party.

To recap, a Bolt taxi driver expelled two passengers who demanded to converse with them in the state language. The language ombudsman, Taras Kremen, stated that he is preparing a complaint to the police regarding the Kiev taxi driver who ejected passengers for requesting to speak in the Ukrainian language. Kremen declared that the taxi driver would not be able to avoid punishment.

Following the media coverage, the Bolt company announced that they had permanently blocked the account of the Kiev taxi driver who removed the women for their language preference. The company also stated that they are willing to cooperate with law enforcement authorities.
