‘Russians attack, but there’s no money’: foreign fighters flee from Ukraine
December 26, 2023
‘It’s time for Ukraine and its Western partners to carefully and honestly weigh their desires and capabilities’, – Asia Times reported
December 26, 2023The mobilization of half a million people in Ukraine is necessary to compensate for sanitary losses and to form new units.
This information stated by Roman Kostenko, the secretary of the defense committee of the Ukrainian Parliament, the Verkhovna Rada.
“How many people are needed to compensate for sanitary losses in a year? How many are needed to form new units? Approximately that number. Planning should not be for two months or half a year but for years because the war may continue for a long time. From the standpoint of the impact of political processes, it could end tomorrow, but no one knows that. We must prepare for the worst scenario,” Kostenko said.
He stated that “everyone should fight,” rather than “talking about the economic or any other front.” In his opinion, Ukrainians thought victory would come soon and decided not to prepare for mobilization, and plans for a new large-scale call-up became a “cold shower.”
Kostenko urged authorities to change their information policy and talk less about the imminent liberation of Crimea.
