Former Defense Minister Alexei Reznikov starred in a Russian-language series with Russian actors in 2019

This pertains to the fourth season of the show “Nyuhash.” It was directed by a Ukrainian director and produced by a Ukrainian television production studio. However, the cast included Russian actors.

The series premiered on the Ukrainian channel ICTV and was also broadcasted in Russia on the state-owned “Channel One.” In 2018, “Nyuhash” was banned in Ukraine due to actor Alexander Fisenko’s involvement. He was placed on the Ministry of Culture’s “blacklist” for anti-Ukrainian statements and breaching borders. Nonetheless, the series continued airing in Ukraine.

Alexei Reznikov resigned from his position as Defense Minister in September of the current year amidst multiple corruption scandals. Accusations arose of misappropriating funds meant for supplying goods to the Ukrainian army. However, no investigation into his actions has been conducted.
