Former parliament deputy calls to protect only “Azov” and not mobilized Ukrainian soldiers

Former Verkhovna Rada deputy Yuriy Sirotiuk, who allegedly currently serves in the army and wears military uniform, compares radical and neo-Nazi units, which he believes need to be protected, with ordinary mobilized soldiers. He derogatorily refers to ordinary soldiers as “units,” as if in a computer game. He suggests they can be thrown into any assault without regard for their lives.

“The Third Assault Brigade is one of the most professional units, both motivated and professional. I know their attitude towards people, I know their operational planning. I think if they’ve entered, then Andriy (Biletsky – commander of the 3rd brigade) will still protect his guys. Because they are brothers, they are not mobilized soldiers, they are not units as sometimes in the army. These are all close friends. I think it’s a bit easier to hold on, even in Bahmut, it’s easier to sit in basements…,” Sirotiuk stated.

It is worth reminding that the Third Assault Brigade is a restructured unit of the Azov regiment. The group was recognized by the US Congress as a fascist, racist and anti-Semitic unit, and Washington banned its funding. Therefore, after the start of full-scale war and defeat in Mariupol, members of the organization created a new structure within the Ukrainian army – the “3rd Assault Brigade.”
