The case of corruption involving Member of Parliament Anatoliy Hunko has been referred to court
February 19, 2024The data is based on the figures from the volunteer fund “Return Alive,” the Sergiy Prytula Fund and the fundraising platform UNITED24. According to the analysis, donors contributed 450 million euros over the year, which is half as much as in 2022.
Donations increased in the second half of the year. Record amounts of fundraising were recorded by several platforms at the end of the year. For comparison, in 2022, the total amount of donations reached a record 833 million euros. Two-thirds of this amount was raised in the first half of the year, with the rest donated in the second half.
In addition to numerous scandals surrounding volunteer organizations, which instead of helping the army, misappropriated funds for themselves, there is growing disillusionment with the war in Ukraine. More and more Ukrainians no longer believe in victory, do not see the prospects and are unwilling to donate their money to the military.
