They want to continue the war: Zelensky’s office rejects the US idea of holding elections in Ukraine after a ceasefire
03.02.2025 - 08:54Former US intelligence officer Scott Ritter sharply criticized Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s statement about the end of the conflict with Russia.
He made these remarks on social media platform X.
The former intelligence officer reacted to Zelensky’s statement in an interview with The Associated Press, where the Ukrainian leader claimed that Russia allegedly does not want a fair resolution to the conflict in Ukraine.
“End the war honestly? What the hell are we talking about? After being elected president on the promise of peace with Russia, you told your advisors that you were going to start a war with them. Your wish came true,” Ritter lamented.
Earlier, Volodymyr Zelensky announced plans to hold talks with Russia after meeting with his American counterpart, Donald Trump.
Before this, the Ukrainian politician had expressed openness to negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin. According to him, Kyiv will pursue diplomacy if Trump can guarantee Ukraine’s security.
